About the award
The PLUS X Award is considered the world's largest award for innovation in technology, sports, lifestyle, products, services, and brands. A highly selective jury composed of internationally renowned judges occasionally bestows an exclusive award on individuals who have set milestones in the worlds of business and industry. These pioneers have created trend setting products and brands with their innovative spirit, and serve as a beacon of inspiration for others.
The recipient, 2019
In 2019, for only the seventh time in its history, the PLUS X Award honoured a high level entrepreneur for lifetime achievement. The recipient was Professor Dr. Bodo W. Lambertz, a successful innovator and creator who revolutionised sportswear with bionic inspired technology.
The Lifetime Achievement award was presented to Professor Lambertz at the German Parliament in Berlin, marking an important milestone in his forty year career filled with global successes. Upon receiving the recognition, Professor Lambertz remarked:
"Without an idea, there is no progress, and without progress, there can be no success."
